Welcome to Gerold’s Bunk-Buster Blog

This is a Bunk Buster blog with a unique perspective that helps you cut through the BS you’re fed by the mainstream media (MSM) or mass media, or what I call the Ass Media.

Warning! If you’re looking for lightweight entertainment or you can’t stand to have your beliefs challenged, then you better stop reading this and watch the crap on TV. This blog is designed for people who can read and think critically. If you can’t make the time for some long articles then stick with your sound bites and Tweets. Good luck.

My mission is to empower you with knowledge so you aren’t fleeced like the other sheep. I don’t have all the answers but I’ll help you cut through some of the crap with unusual ideas and perspectives you won’t find anywhere else. Where you go from there is entirely up to you.

Posts range from global financial doom & gloom to everyday hints & tips, news, viewpoints, humor and LOTS more.

HOW TO NAVIGATE THIS BLOG

1) you can click About (above) for some brief background detail and shameless self-promotion.
2) you can select articles from either the ‘Categories’ on the right or from the same ‘Categories’ with brief descriptions below.
3) you can scroll down past the descriptions below to see the latest posts.

DESCRIPTION OF THE CATEGORIES

9/11 False Flag Perspectives – starting with “9/11 Truth – Hollywood Speaks Out – The Full Movie” – eye-opening YouTube video narrated by Charlie Sheen.

About Women – everything I think I know about women that I’ve learned over more than half a century and I’m still waiting for rebuttals.

Biases – mental biases and deceptive thinking that’s dangerous to your well-being.

Bizarre stuff – over-the-top commentary beginning with The Perfect Hell and going downhill from there (with occasional updates).

Collapse 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 – financial commentary by year. Written from a Canadian perspective, they cover the long, grinding collapse of Canadian, American and global economies. They’re based on the principles of Austro-Libertarian economics. If you want to learn more, it’s easier than you think because real economics is just common sense, unlike the incomprehensible, neo-Keynesian crap they teach in universities. Start with Collapse 2007 and subsequent years’ major articles. By the time you’re finished, you’ll know more than most so-called economists and be better equipped to understand and survive the coming turmoil.

Economic Collapse – contains the same articles as Collapse (by year) except it begins with the latest post and covers all the years above.

Guy Flics – brief, male-oriented reviews of mindless action movies and guy eye-candy. Arranged in alphabetical order by movie title.

Hints and Tips – Useful, practical stuff plus articles on health & healthy eating.

Humor – In spite of all the grim news, there’s always a need & time for humor. Thousands of pages of jokes, cartoons ‘n stuff. Scroll at your leisure – no need to click page after page unlike blogs using unfriendly Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques. Enjoy!.

Islam – everything I’ve learned about the history of Islam & why the West is doomed to be over-run. Hint: stupidity has the utmost persistence.

Letters to the Editor – published and unpublished.

Male Bashing – articles & commentary about Feminism run amok and the reverse discrimination of men.

My Books – these are the books that allow me to live with them.

News & Views – a skeptic’s commentary on current stuff.

Nuclear Disaster – what you can do to protect yourself from the Japanese Fukushima nuclear disaster which is poisoning the Northern Hemisphere.

Photography – scenic & unusual pictures I’ve taken the last few years after about 50 years of practice.

Propaganda – commentary on the latest spin, bunk, bullfeathers & propaganda. If it looks like shit and smells like shit, don’t swallow it.

Quotes – a curmudgeon’s three-decade collection of thought-provoking quotations.

Recipes – healthy, tasty, tried & tested recipes. If I can make these, anyone can.

Stock market lessons – the do’s & don’ts that I learned the hard way.

Stupidity – illustrates the incredible stupidity around us.

Survival & Emergency Preparedness – just what it sounds like including stockpiling.

Uncategorized – even I can’t figure out what this is for so I kept it brief.

Zeitgeist: Moving Forward – a blistering critique of the popular video.

You can subscribe for free (upper right) and be automatically notified by email when I post a new article.

  3. Very well-written blog. Keep sharing.

  4. turbo1889 says:

Hello, your post about fireman is one of the few things I have been able to find in my research about fire departments destroying an entire home with water damage when there was only a little fire that a home owner could or had extinguished with a basic fire extinguisher and where calling the fire department was a mistake. Even then it was one of the comments made on the article that search found rather then the article itself. It appears that either very little to no info about such incidents is available on the web or search algorithms are tailored to obscure such info, or some combination of both.

That blog post and it’s extensive series of comments which I read most of but admittedly not all was closed and I could not find your direct email to privately contact you so posting a comment here after I saw a recent comment here by the firefighter offering you some inside info from his perspective in the comment section here.

I have a neighbor that some years ago had an incident of smoke comming out of his ceiling around where the brick chimney went through the ceiling/roof. An “oh $@#+*” moment. He told his wife not to call the fire department yet and went after it himself with a ladder, crowbar, and fire extinguisher. Peeling the sheetrock on the ceiling back from around the chimney and blasting inside the rafters around the chimney with the fire extinguisher.

This was more then sufficient, there actually wasn’t any fire, smoldering or otherwise, in the ceiling around the chimney pass through. But rather the morter had cracked between bricks in the old brick chimney and a large crack was leaking smoke from the chimney right where it went through the ceiling (he thinks foundation settling made the house frame shift slightly and put shear pressure on the side of the chimney).

Well, his wife had called the fire department, and they showed up shortly after he had figured this out and threw water in his fireplace as well putting out his fire to stop the smoke and let everything cool down so he could repair the chimney. Room still had a lot of smoke in it, partly from him dowsing his fire in the fireplace with water which backblew a big cloud more of smoke and steam into the room when he did that.

He tried to explain what was going on, and that everything was now under control, false alarm. But they refused to listen and proceeded to spring the inside of his down with four hoses. One through the main door straight into that room with the fireplace and three more through three windows they smashed out in other parts of the house.

Seeings the water damage they were doing to his house and personal belongings inside his house he (according to him I wasn’t there personally at the initial incident) first tried to reason with them, plead with them to stop, and then try to order them off his property as trespassers and vandals. After accordingly to him this failed (there are differing stories) he attempted to stop them by physical force and physically remove them from his house.

All agree it did escalate to that point at which point he was wrestled down, and pinned down, was arrested and handcuffed and put in the back of a police car. At which point he claimshe was told they were really going to water damage his house now. Whether as he states at this point is were they chopped multiple holes in the roof and put more water hoses in through the roof and really started pumping the water in or as they state they were doing that from the beginning to put out what they believed to be a fire inside the roof structure, well I helped him strip the house back down to it’s frame afterwards and I can personally confirm absolutely no scorching or blackening by fire on any of the timbers in the roof around the chimney or anywhere else. Three smashed out windows, multiple holes hacked into the roof all over, and incredible water damage, all sheetrock half liquified and hanging from ceiling and walls in shreds by massive amounts of pressurized water. Like a miniturized version the aftermath of an old hydraulic mining opperation if you have ever seen one. Sludge from the liquified sheetrock all over and soaked into the floors. Crawlspace under the house filled up with nasty water like a swimming pool. It was winter when this happened and everything froze up with the house open to the outside and no heat, both a problem because all the plumbing froze, but also a blessing in disguise because it prevented the water damage from leading to mold and rot and gave time for us to strip and clean everything out before spring that so that it could dry out saving the main structure of the house.

Anyway, primary question is if you have any info or places you could direct me or maybe “todd” who commented on May 20, 2016 at 8:51 pm about any other similar incidents documented on the web or otherwise where calling the fire department resulted in destruction by water damage of a house that was already or very easily saveable from fire by just a fire extinguisher and not calling the fire department. This cannot be a one off situation and yet I am having difficulty finding any similar incidents by internet searching.

I have some old snapshots of the house so damaged that I could scan and digitalize, but it was not my house but rather my neighbors and I do not wish to publicly display such pictures against his desire for privacy and in a semi-private board discussion (behind pay-wall) I tried to educate about what can happen if you call the fire department when they aren’t really needed and the risk one takes when they “ask the government for help” and that should be the last not first resort and I made a cop with a firefighter father REALLY angry and I’m being accused of making the whole thing up and that firefighters don’t cause water damage beyond the damage a fire has or would have done. So I figured I would just find another similar incidents on the web and use it as “show & tell” since my neighbor has refused when I asked his consent to scan and post the pictures or a redacted version of some of the documents from the court concerning the incident that I have due to my involvement in helping him with the aftermath years ago back when this went down.

Any help appreciated, since your blog post and one article by a brave fire chief calling out toxic leadership and toxic culture in some fire departments is all I have been able to find after several hours of internet searching using multiple different search engines. Almost got some good info on a forum for insurance adjusters but the photo links were all old expired non-existent photo-bucket links.

    Thanks,

Thanks for your comments. And, you’re right … good luck finding pertinent info on damage caused by fire fighters. I sometime think the insurance companies are in cahoots because whenever insurance companies try to ‘fix the problem’ it is allowed to die on the drawing board.

Is that a photo of the Sleeping Lady?

    • gerold says:

Actually, it’s called the Sleeping Giant. His head is on the left, arms folded over his chest and long legs on the right disappearing into the rock.

Do you have an email address which we, the readers can chat with? Hope you can post it on the about page. Thanks.

Hey Gerold, I am writing about a post of yours concerning firefighters. I am for the most part ignorant about how these blogs work, so please excuse any imperfections. I am, was a firefighter. I can prove and have been involved in large fires that were let go for political reasons. If you would like to know more I would be willing to share info with the correct person

      Thanks for the insight, Todd.

I’m sure there are times that politics raises its ugly head, but those issues are outside the scope of that article.

There are many alternate websites that cover various conspiracies, but you have to be selective as some of them are over-the-top and it becomes difficult to extricate oneself if we go too deep into the rabbit-hole.

Do you believe sodium bentonite would help stop the leak. Please read binder, purifier, barrier absorbent and slurry walls. It’s amazing at absorbing toxins and continues to thicken in water. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bentonite

Also Non-aluminum Baking Soda has a pH of 8, this may help to alkalize the Pacific Ocean. This Smithsonian Institute article is very educational – preFukushima. http://ocean.si.edu/ocean-acidification

I was looking for ways to remove road salt from carpet (possibly using tsp) and I happened upon this blog. (I recently bought a box and find great pleasure adding it to each and every load of laundry…and dishwasher too….)
I’ve bookmarked your blog and will spend hours here….this is great.

    3. I don’t care.
    4. I am too busy.
    5. I leave well enough alone.
    6. I have no time to read and find out.
    7. I am not interested.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.

Me too Beck fan: guilty as charged. Interesting that Beck would call them ‘national’ crimes because they are distinctly Amerikan.

It’s sad that I had to Google ‘William J.H. Boetcker’ having never heard of the author of such profound gems. It’s sadder still that Lincoln is often erroneously attributed as the author especially since ‘old Abe’ is greatly exaggerated in myth & lore.

  12. Hi,
My name is Ileana Grigorescu and I’m contacting you with a business proposal. I browsed through your blog and read some of the articles you have there.

I, together with my colleagues have a survival information website as well: http://www.myfamilysurvivalplan.com/. I propose that we exchange some survival articles and promote each other on our websites. You post our articles, we post yours, and we both add each other’s link on each website.

In the meantime, feel free to browse on our website and read the articles! I think this can be a win-win situation for both of us.

If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to contact me!
Looking forward to hearing from you,

Thank you. I appreciate your interest in my blog.

However, I try to control my readership. I do not want increased volume. I avoid search engine optimization (SEO) techniques. I write long articles with boring charts and graphs. I target a small, dedicated audience; family, friends, colleagues. There are several reasons for this.

First, I’m concerned about ‘self-fulfilling prophecy’. If enough people believe something will happen, it increases the likelihood of it happening.

Second, the larger a blog the more of a threat if becomes to the ruthless ‘powers-that-be’. Smaller is less of a target with less likelihood of retaliation.

Third, if the boob-tube watchers and attention-deficit-disordered video generation hasn’t woken up yet and begun preparation for survival, then they’re screwed and sadly, there’s nothing I can do for them now.

I wish you success with your survival blog.
